Well, I didn't make it to Ranmore Avenue tonight...

but only because it was dark so I went the more well-lit way! Finally, finally - I don't know how many weeks but it's just over 3 months since I started. A few extra rest days and a couple of practice runs and even a planned joggette and I've stretched this C25K thing out to suit me, but I never gave up. Week 9 Run 3 achieved tonight. Just two road-crossing stops and we were good. Felt surprisingly fast by the end ... but I made sure to mix up my route so I wouldn't be able to sabotage myself with thoughts of distance and therefore speed. My legs ache, but I did some post-run stretches, so I should be good. Next run ... Wednesday? Just make sure I keep running, gang. And thank you from the bottom of my running shoes for being the best place on the internet x

Well done! Such a massive achievement, you should be so proud of yourself. 'I did it my way and I never gave up' that's a t shirt (love a t shirt!) ready for your first run post-grad :)

sings "I did it myyyyyyyyyy waaaayyyyyyyy" :D

I'm v proud that I didn't give up and leave this like so many other hobbies (crochet, anyone? Don't even ask how many guitars I don't play). I have a habit of stretching things out longer than they ought to be but then I'm slowly learning about myself and how I get things done.

Definitely need t-shirts, or rather, running vests!

Ah you may not have made ranmore the Avenue but you made ranmore the destination.... massive congratulations on getting to the graduation post. Ps where's your well earned badge?

Order for the badge is in! There'll be more Ranmore in my future, I hope. It's such a nice route up that way and the Big Park beckons.

Ranmore Avenue - brilliant road name. We should start collecting appropriately named roads. My favourite route is along Gravelly Bottom Road which is what you'd get if you slipped over as it's a bit rough under foot in places!

oooh! Evocative. That did make me laugh.

<Oscar speech alert> Thank you to genuinely everyone on here, it's truly a great place.

Special thanks to Hidden especially because I hijacked the A-E cup challenge thread so much with my uber enthusiasm for sports bras and she seemed to not mind... by the way, my graduation present is of course ... another sports bra ;) I did treat myself to dri-fit leggings which I christened on my graduation run - I was impressed with the dri but not the fit!

Ah well... next stop might be better shoes, I've gotten away with ones from a sports shed which were at least 1000x better than the planks I had strapped to my feet for my very first run.

As for what's next Ificandoit ... consolidation ... and for me that's going to mean planning a routine and sticking to it, and working with my new hypothyroid diagnosis and my mental health issues. Though for now I've outrun the black dog and hoping I've put him off following.

I'm hoping to learn a lot more than just running here and for it to stick :)

Love the fact you bought a sports bra as a present...

Want to see your consolidation posts too, because you have nice routes and I love your observations...

Congratulations again

Can't take credit for the routes, where I live is usually maligned but honestly I love it! I didn't name the streets or put in the parks :) but thank you!
