W5R3 and W6R1 a wedding, a family barbecue and a very poorly cat!

What a weekend I've had but fortunately I've kept going!

Travelled to London for my nephews wedding but managed to do my W5R3 on a treadmill in the hotel before I got myself ready which I was so happy about 😁

Not so much luck for the Sunday run which should have been my W6R1, what should have been a straight forward trip back up the m1 to Yorkshire ended up as a trip across to Wales then back to Yorkshire so we started out at 7.15am, no time for a run ☹️

By the time we got home it was 7.30pm and I was welcomed by my cat limping and not eating. No time again for a run. After X-rays and time spent in the vets I really couldn't face the run on Monday night either.

So Tuesday dawned and I now have to take the cat many miles to an orthopaedic vet so they can operate, so I decided I desperately needed to run to try and clear my head.

W6R1 I thought would be fine, how wrong I was, really struggled for the last 5 mins run so now I'm panicking about the next run ☹️

I'm hoping it was just the stress of the last few days that made me struggle.

Here's to Friday morning 😁

This one catches out a lot of folks, it was my nemesis run. Take a look at your stats if you have them, and just make sure you didn't start out too fast.. I found as my stamina and fitness improved I was heading out just that bit faster, so I took a conscious effort to slow back down...

Possibility that plus all the obvious stresses and strains, meant you weren't at your best. But good luck next time out, you've been trucking well so far, no reason it can't continue

Thank you Jancanrun, I don't have the stats as my phone died just before the run and I usually have all my stats on it!

It could be what you say though, I think I did W5R3 quite easily as the pace on the treadmill is a steady one and it doesn't fluctuate as much as road running, plus I have a couple of hills in my run!

Awww - I hope your cat is okay. My little moggie is 17 years old, and anything that is wrong with her would definitely stress me out. Let alone travelling and trying to fit in runs anyway.

Congrats on W5R3 (seriously impressed by that dedication!) and I'm sure W6R1 was just a blip on the radar given all you've got going on. I'm at the same stage as you and I was surprised that W6R1 didn't seem easier - after all, we ran 20 mins without stopping before! We're pretty amazing! :)
