Week 6 Run 1 - done! :0)

Soooooooooooo, I thought tonight would be a doddle after doing a steady 20 minute run without stopping on Friday (I'm still elated I did it!) - but I was wrong. I wouldn't say it was awful, but it was possibly harder than I was expecting it to be.

The good news, however, is that my pace has really picked up, so I must be getting fitter and faster (at least for today). On Friday, I was averaging running at 7:35km/hr (this includes the 5 minutes warm up and cool down); today I averaged 4.92km at an average pace of 6:50km/hour (again, including warm up and cool down).

Maybe the 6km/hour pace needed for 5k in 30 minutes isn't so unmanageable afterall? Extending to 25 minutes on Friday sounds like a challenge too but I'm up for it now and (I never thought I'd say this!) enjoying it!

Well done getting this one in the bag, it was my nemesis run and has caught out a few of us.

Great news on the pace and the fact that you enjoy your running...

Isn't it a great feeling when you get to the point where you want to go out and run. I'm sure you'll get there now - I'm cheering from the sidelines (rather puce and having a sit down)!

Forget all the time and pace bits!

At this stage, as the runs get longer, just relax and enjoy them.

You are still building up running muscles and stamina and strength.

Slow down.... enjoy the journey... the 5K is not necessary.. but the thirty minute runs, injury free are:)

Time for speed and distance can follow... honestly! It will come.... when it is time :)
