Thanks for all the support yesterday when I was really feeling down at the thought of being suddenly plunged into deafness.

Mr R. has been fab and took me to Westbury yesterday afternoon where we completed a 5k walk taking in the white horse, the quaint a beautiful St Giles Church with it's lovely flights of cobbled steps and some gorgeous countryside (as well as the MoD inner firing range - which Mr R was more interested in than me, it has to be said). It was a lovely blowy walk and as I don't usually walk with headphones in I was able to forget about my ear.

The walking, along with several sets of stabilisation exercises has helped with my balance , and this morning I have got some limited hearing back in my one hearing ear. So I'm feeling much more positive.

In fact I just took myself on a Blue Plaque walking tour of Calne , another beautiful town in Wiltshire and I'm smiling.

Hopefully I'll get another tourist run in tomorrow morning (planning to go to Bradford on Avon as there is a nice country park between the river and the canal) and hopefully I'll be able to hear some of my tunes if I turn my phone up to the max.

Thanks again all. X

I shall plan ahead and get into my running kit when I drop him off at work (we've only bought one car down with us) and then I can go straight from there to my proposed running route. There is also a bakery near the car park where I'll start/ finish, so that will be some motivation. I'm hoping to get Lardy cake as we don't get it where we live. ๐Ÿ˜‹

Well that's some good news, if a bit too early to be whooping and hollering. Lovely collage of pics it sounds like a good day.

' to cut a long story short, your hubby sounds kind' with thanks to Spandau....

Take care and it's great that there's some improvement

I shall put my inspiration hat back on again.... in your honour. What's your view on Tina Turner..., just heard Simply the Best ....

That would be good especially good in terms of the lyrics, I also like Nutbush Cuty limits (have this on my Rock Running Tracks download. What about Goody Two Shoes (Adam and the Ants), or Start Me Up ( Rolling Stones) ?

in reply to Razouski

Less of a Stones fan to be honest, but with you on Adam Ant - I did try Prince Charming but found it notoriously difficult to run to.

So next week's download treats definitely a culture club, blancmange and I was thinking Marc Almond... but Adam Ant may win out here.... but that's a wait until Sunday I have to do three runs to qualify for it...

First one probably tomorrow, but we have oodles of commitments so it may be Wednesday....

"Caleb"..? No idea... it should have said Calne but autocorrect took over. I've fixed it in my post. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We live in Luton, but Mr Razouski got a job in Siemens, Chippenham in June and is renting a cottage in Shurnhold (between Melksham and Shaw). We don't really know the area so I'm enjoying exploring different places when I get the chance to come and stay.

It's so lovely here.

I went to Lacock in July and Castle Combe in August. Bother really stunning. I haven't been to Slaughterford yet. I'll put it on my list of places to go . ๐Ÿค“

Do you go to a Parkrun at all?

Polly2810 profile image
Polly2810Graduate in reply to Razouski

Not yet...thinking of doing the Chippenham one when I can keep going for 5k!!

Is that at Maryโ€™s church? I got married there...first time! ๐Ÿ˜œ

Razouski profile image
Razouski in reply to Polly2810

Yes it's St Mary's Church, it looked lovely.

Whoops, sorry , I lied. I put St Mary's on my Facebook this evening. The church in this post is St Giles near Westbury and Britton Camp.

I was thinking of doing the Parkrun near Trowbridge or the Chippenham one next time I'm down.
