First unfinished run :-(

I went out to do Week 7 Run 1 with all the eagerness of an over eager beaver....after all, I had completed a 25 min run just a couple of days earlier so all I needed to do was repeat that and then pat myself on the back for another successful run, right?

I soon found myself disappointed when 12 minutes in I felt like I'd hit a wall and, instead of powering through like I had done previously, I was weak and stopped. I was so disappointed in myself following the run but I've given myself a good talking to and I'm off out for a re-run tonight. No-one said this was going to be easy but my goal of running at my local Park Run is in sight so I won't give up!

Don't lose heart - that first 25 min run at the end of W6 can really take it out of you. Every run is a new challenge and so make sure you set off nice and slowly - you can always speed up at the end! 😊 Good luck!

Thanks for the pep talk - I am going to channel my inner snail on tonight's run! :-)

Chalk it up as a practice, give it a day and then give it another go, don't beat yourself up over it.

You never fail on a run, you either complete it or it's a practice.

You will crack it next time.

Thanks for the reassurance - I gave myself a day's rest yesterday and am now looking forward to a slow and steady (and successful!) run tonight. :-)

Don't be disheartened. As the forum always say it's never classed as a failure. Well done for being positive and planning to do it again. Sounds like you are doing amazing so far 👏🏼

Thank you - I refuse to give in! :-)

Hey the runs sometimes take their toll as you truck through the plan. If I had my time again I would have taken extra rest days from time to time.

Just a practice, so next time it is perfectly done. Good luck and happy running

Thanks so much JCR - the support on here really helped and I managed it. I took your advice and gave myself an extra rest day. Feeling suitably smug now! :-)

No wall..just you going too fast :)

If you go out tonight, please, take it slow and steady.. really slow and steady.

The idea is to enjoy these longer runs... not tire ourselves or those muscles out...you will get to where you want to be soon enough... and injury free too!
