Week 9 Run 2 - one to go!!

So earlier I felt stiff. I took on board some advice about making my warm up a little more brisk. I did just that and I do think it worked. According to the stats this is my best run yet. Further than Monday (even though I turned my tracker off 34 seconds earlier) and faster paced. Strava likes to pick out segments and compare you against yourself and others who’ve done the same segment. There are 2 in my route and I got PB’s in both! If I’m being honest with myself I know why I was stiff but that’s a confession for my graduation post. It’s nothing saucy! 😂 but I know it’s linked to stress as my son has a chest infection again after getting over a stomach bug. Some of you may remember me talking about him, he was seriously ill with pneumonia in January and any chest infection puts him high risk of it happening again. He is also ‘high-risk’ asthma, as he’s only 18 months old they can’t give any firm diagnosis but he basically is treated as if he has it as the medications work for him. So it’s been another stressful week. But maybe that helped me today, who knows. Maybe the cool air and slight rain (timed it perfectly) has cleared my head a little. I certainly don’t feel as stiff as I did earlier. Maybe it is the endorphins. Who knows. But I feel good and now there is just one run to go!

Tell you what though, it’s shocking how many people don’t allow you space to run. I almost collided with parked cars and walls on a few occasions today where people were strolling 3 abreast and looking at me like some sort of neon yellow alien. Maybe my top blinded them.

Well done and I hope your son gets over his chest infection quickly.

Bring on the graduation run.

Oh blimey no wonder you weren't feeling right. Poor Flynn, poor you. I think yellow fluoro has a blinding effect I almost got run over this morning and was wearing yes you've guessed it bright yellow fluoro.... maybe it is like light and moths?

So that is one foot firmly planted on the podium with a pb on it too.... looking forward to your graduation post you've worked damned hard to get there.

Brilliantly done MrsT

Well done! You are almost on the podium! I hope your son recovers quickly and you can all feel a little less stressed.

Your neon yellow alien comment made me chuckle. It is quite weird that people aren't a bit more accommodating though. I really dislike running with lots of people around. My inner misanthrope comes to the fore. I think that's why I love the early morning so much, when it's possible.

And onwards to the graduation run! :)

There is a certain part of my run that goes past a college and although the pavement is pretty wide in the majority, some cars park on it fully which doesn't help. Another bit was running behind a bus stop but in front of shops and people getting off the bus coupled with someone coming out of the shop made me look like I was doing some sort of assault course. But if I can run at lunch time now the dark nights are coming, I think I would rather the people than the dark :(

Getting closer and coping wonderfully!! You do amazingly !

Just finish this...in style and slowly and steadily. You have had an incredible journey and with so much to think about... Poor small one :)

Rest up... and we shall all be waiting at the podium... flags flying and band playing!

Go you! xx
