3K was such hard work

Just back from a few days in the Peak District to celebrate Kev's (hubby) 50th Birthday.

Stayed in a lovely pub in Ashbourne thanks to recommendation from a lovely C25K beyonder.

2 days of lots of walking with the odd hill climbed, but so wanted to run in the lovely countryside so today we set off to do 5-6k along the Tissington Trail.

Well we managed about 3k in total, both so tired, legs felt heavy all that walking and doing Nuclear Blast 5k on Saturday had taken more out of us than we thought.

Tea party with nieces and nephew tonight before heading back to London tomorrow.

Another run is planned for Friday and longer run on Sunday as we start preparing for half marathon we are running in March.

Have a great evening all and happy running 😊

Yesterday we walked along Monsal Trail from Hassop to Monsal Head then along Cromford canal and Monday went to Ilam and walked and climbed Thorpe Cloud at Dovedale

So many beautiful things to do and see

I'm in Derbyshire and not run the TT yet. I've walked it though

I want to run through the tunnels πŸ™‚

Exciting... :)

There's only one beastly tunnel on the TT, and that's right at the bottom end. If you want tunnels, I think it's the Monsal that has them. The High Peak has a couple towards the Matlock end, I think, as well. Bah!

We did the Headstone Tunnel then climbed up to Monsal Head gorgeous view of the Viaduct and River Wye

Tissington Tunnel is short in comparison and running down is definitely easier

I've been to peak district today ,there was a light rain but it was enjoyable. It's only a hr away from us in car, I go regular hiking round there .

Tunnels scare me :( I'm not too bad if I'm with someone, and there aren't any rotten sound effects.
