Wk4 R1 and this seriously out of condition 47 year old ran continously for 5 minutes TWICE! (Not to mention the two lots of 3 minutes). Which means in the 30 minutes I RAN MORE THAN I WALKED. It wasn't fast and it probably didn't look that pretty - bit it feels brilliant!!!!

Ah yes, that beautiful sense of achievement makes you think "why ever did we not think to do this before?!" WELL DONE! I have 1 run left of week 4, and it has been my favourite week yet. 😀

I have already told 'HealthUnlocked' about my fitness regime, however, running is not a thing I have done much at all. I am 71 years of age, 10stone/140 lbs/ BMI 23, so far OK.

I'll start experimenting in running and see how I get on, I was out a walk the other day, walking about 4 miles an hour, I counted 135-foot strokes a minute which isn't too bad. I decided for 1 minute to run and see how many foot stokes I could do, 180 was the result in that minute, I'll increase the run to over a minute the next time (say 2 and so on) when I am out doing my daily walks

You could use the Couch to5K plan which starts from walking with 1 minute running bursts. 🤓

I was doing that this morning, I set out on a 5-minute warmup walk and then started running for 1 minute, walked for 2 minutes, run for 1 minute and so on until the 4th or 5th run when my ankle became sore so I just had to sort of hobble along after that. The sore ankle on my right leg will heal soon and I should hopefully start those interval training sessions again, hopefully, this time the ankle won't get sore.

Thankfully it's not a beauty contest, or I wouldn't be doing it. I always look bedraggled but I love it, and sounds like you do too. Go you..!
