Don't feel bad - I find my energy levels are much better first thing in the morning so I have a small decaf cuppa and a banana and off I go. On your feet all day doesn't help. Keep smiling and trying😬

Thanks hunny...its so frustrating!!!my husband loves running & goes for 8 or 9 miles without stopping!!!i would never compare myself to him in a million years but get so annoyed when i cant even run for 90 seconds without stopping!!!x

The question is, how long has your husband been running for? I don't think it's a new thing he's done is it?

Don't worry about it, try it again but try going a little slower or as Debbie698, said, try in the morning. I used to use the treadmill at night, I used to be tired before I got on it, in a morning I'm totally different, after ANY of the runs I've done I'm bouncing for the rest of the day, sooo much energy plus the 'high' of completing the run/endorphin rush, etc.

You can do this, seriously, you can, NO runner has been able to just set off on an 8 or 9 mile run without practice, follow the program, slow and steady.

I would never aim to be anywhere near my hubby...he is crazy fit & i have no need to do what he does to be honest...just got frustrated today as mentally i was so keen but my legs wernt!!!i think this 9 week programme will probably take me alot longer as i can see myself having to repeat the weeks!!!

I meant no offense by what I put, I was just trying to highlight we all start from roughly the same place.

It says it's 9 weeks but there's nothing saying its got to be one after the other.

Just go slow, take it steady and give your fitness and stamina levels time to grow, you can do this, I know you feel frustrated but you can do it.

in reply to LeeU

Ah...no offense taken 😊 his stamina is ridiculous!!!he goes cross country & " accidentally " ran 22 miles because he got lost haha πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ thanks so much for the moral support...really appreciate it xx

Don't feel bad hun just have a small snack maybe and pace yourself. I'm a cleaner too n always go after work, but it's pacing myself that's kept me going tbh, not too much bounce when u run it's more tiring. Good luck on next run hunni u can do it!πŸƒ

Thankyou for your kind words 😊

I've also had really good runs and shockingly bad runs - it's so difficult to work out why. Just remembering how brilliant I feel after a good run keeps me going.

Its a funny old game!!!hopefully some better ones are coming up x

No disaster its just a run that didn't quite work out as expected. I think it was damienair who once observed that nay run, no matter whether to the plan or not, is a run that banks kms, or stamina or experience. And so today you made a new running experience. Now you know how it feels when you're not quite right, so put it in your experience bank and look at it dispassionately and think about doing the run in your head, so your legs follow.

We all have a rubbish run from time to time... be kind to yourself and it will be fine next time

I had to do W1r1 3 times before I could move on to W1R2. The first time I only managed 4 of the minute long runs. But I kept at it and it paid off. I did W6R2 this morning so it was worth sticking with it. You can do this!

Wow thats awesome well done 😊 this group is so super helpful...i only joined yesterday but i have quickly come to the conclusion that i will have to repeat weeks in order to make progress.but this group is great because i also realise that its ok to do that & not feel a failure for doing so 😊 sounds like you are doing great x

Hi Claire

I'm on W2R2 as well, due to run it tonight with friends. I'm still working out when is the best time to run as I work permanent nights. I did my first W2 run post night shift πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈProbably not the most sensible thing to do. But, a work colleague who's an experienced runner offered to run with me. I was so grateful. She really motivated me to keep going and I did all the 90 second runs.

I've been a bit daft today (I've already posted about that if you want a read) I definitely feel more up for it in the morning regardless of my nights shifts.

Keep going chick you can do it & try not to get disheartened, others are feeling the same.

I'm there with you on same week puffing away red faced.

Hope you don't mind, but I'm going to follow you so we can motivate each other !!

We can do this πŸ’ͺ🏻πŸ’ͺ🏻 😊

Ah bless you...sounds great hun x

I am also following you too 😊

When is your next run planned for ?

in reply to Tracey73

Well it's meant to be tonight, but then I did a week 1 run this morning whilst out with the dog feeling like Paula Radcliffe all energised first thing.

I'm still going to go with my friends but if it's a struggle I'll be sensible and do some power walking instead. If I do manage it all I'll give myself a pat on the back and then at least 2-3 days to recover before I do the 3rd run.

Sounds like you need a day to dose yourself up, no point struggling too much & becoming more disheartened. Why not wrap up and have a brisk walk instead.

I'll let you know how I do .... ☺️

I find that i really want to keep up with it when i am meant to go...so i will see how i feel tomorrow.i hope you get on ok.i would love to run with my dogs but i think it would be utter chaos haha πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ they would definately pull me over!!!enjoy your run hunny but be kind to yourself & dont over do it xx
