Autumn mists / W4R2 done

Look what nature gave me this morning! Beautiful. It felt nice to run on this misty autumnal morning, perfect temperature. The run was hard and I had to dig deep for that last 5 min run. My lungs cope okay, it's my wee legs! Must work on strength! Anyway, it was hard for sure, but I did it, and I enjoyed it, and that's gotta count for something.

Hope you are all doing well today. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜€

That's just stunning. Autumn is the best time to run IMHO.

Thanks IP! You wouldn't believe I live in a town, would you? Looks so bucolic. Lucky to have this amazing park on my doorstep.

These are the things non runners miss.

That looks beautiful! How are you finding week 4?

Sort of tough, but not impossible, Neil! I am really enjoying it though, building up my time each week. How are you doing? πŸ˜€

in reply to Sadie-runs

Good to know, and very glad you're enjoying it, and that gives me hope that maybe I can manage that in a week or so.

I'm doing OK actually thanks, in fact I would say good. it's been easier so far than I expected. I have W3R3 tonight after work, and starting Week 4 on Friday hopefully, hoping to squeeze a run in before I go and see my daughter for her birthday.

Take care, Neil

You know, mentally the jump from running for 3 minutes to running for 5 mins is hard, but in reality I found it totally do-able, and you will too. Trust the programme!

Glad to hear it is going well for you too. Be sure to check in and let us know how you feel when you complete run 1 of week 4. Slow and steady mate, right?! πŸ˜€

What's the worst that could happen?!?! Thanks for your support, just off for my last week 3 run now :)

That counts for everything!!

I am loving my first autumn running. The landscape is changing and every morning wears a slightly different face. The coolness is very welcome too...

Beautiful picture and you ENJOYED your run. Well done :)

Thanks Helen! And yes, the coolness of autumn is most refreshing on a run. Bliss. Though watch out for slippery leaves! πŸ˜€

Beautiful.....simply beautiful... well done you...:)

Yep, your strength exercises are essential especially now the runs are beginning , like the Autumn days, to lengthen :) And do not neglect the stamina work also :)

Loads like these around.. I have a regime I do every day :)

I need to retire to have time for this running lark :)

I can recommend it.. salary cheque at the end of the month maybe not so impressive...but the benefits..oh my!

in reply to Oldfloss

Mr Wheels is desperate to retire (NHS is stressful) so I will be working for some time to keep him in the style to which he plans to become accustomed :)

Aw, thanks Floss! And thank you too for the link! Looks very do-able; I shall give them a go tomorrow. Stamina = I have started to walk up every staircase I come across, including the 8 floors up to my office (gasp!) 😘

Best exercise ever.. my Nan was still walking up and down a long flight of stairs.. and down again when she was 98!
