Well...that is it then....it really is...

This is what I'm going to be doing for as long as my legs will carry me....my life has changed....

I have just got in from my 3rd consecutive soggy run....and I feel absolute amazed with myself!!

It was absolutely chucking it down when i opened the front door..WITH MY NEW TRAINERS ON!!!! ....the police helicopter was hovering above the park..I must admit I was a bit nervous at the thought of being alone in the park if there was someone on the loose....it must be something serious for the helicopter to be out..anyway Mr Smooth was easing me into my last run of W7 (Never thought I'd say that!!!!) so off I went trudging through the wet grass, rain dripping off all my pointy bits, nose, ears etc....ready to run? absolutely....!!! So, with one eye on the helicopter, I set off....I have to say that at no point whatsoever did I even think about my legs, my breathing, the rain, giving up, getting tired....nothing!! I just kept on running....at one point, when the police were running through the park I got a bit panicky about my safety but I figured that if I was in any danger they'd let me know, so I just ran...& kept on running!! One thing I did think about was me...I was envious, in the earlier weeks, of people being able to run & not be short of breath, well, that is me now...something has happened...I can run for 25 minutes quite easily...& it's unbelievable!!!

The police disappeared into the bushes & dragged out a fella with a knife...I 'd run passed those bushes three times(!) ....apparently he'd stolen a car & dumped it a street away from my house too....that's what's going on his world...but in my world, I'm running...I love running...I'm so glad that I have running in my world...the feeling is amazing...the adrenaline, everything...I'd rather get my adrenaline this way that his way...

Quite an exciting run...but satisfying too...just shows how people's worlds are so different...

Goodbye week 7....hello week 8!!! Yikes!!!!

P.s.....my trainers are FAB!!!

What a fabulous post and congratulations on leaving Week 7 behind!!

It seems that nothing, not even a car thief, can put you off your running 🏃🏻‍♀️

Sending positive vibes for Week 8 and keep up the good work 😊

Great to hear your run well so great. As I qas told once, the running gods were with you and gave you one of those amazing runs when you feel great and you know that you are on one way street - there is no going back to 'No Running Life'.

Glad that you are safe and that the guy was caught.

As my mentor IannodaTruffe e is saying 'Keep running, keep smiling'

Blimey MC, take care out there! Glad you had such a fulfilling run (and that the police chopper wasn't watching over you instead!), and that you enjoyed your magic blue trainers. Onto week 8!

😂😂....there's a whole new world out there waiting to be discovered by all of us runners!!!! I darent put the hood up on my jacket in case they thought I was trying to disguise myself!!!

How funny!

That reminds me that towards the end of my last run I saw a guy obviously on his way to work who looked at me with an expression of shock. I knew I was a bit red-faced and sweaty but thought, blimey, am I really that bad? I noticed also that I had quite a nasty cut on my hand (no idea whatsoever how I did it, weirdly) which was bleeding quite a bit but thought nothing of it.

When I got home I caught sight of myself in the mirror, and OMG - I must have wiped the sweat off my face with my hand and left a load of streaks of blood on it. I must have looked like I was running away from the scene of a crime!

I bet I'd have scared off Mr. Bloke in the Bush...

If the guy in the bushes had done C25k he might have got away, rather than hide in some soggy hedge!

Goodness me, that's a post and a half. You've definitely won the award for most exciting run today.

Fantastic post though - it just goes to show that where there's a will there's a way. Despite having lots of reasons to give you an excuse to stay at home, you got yourself out there and smashed week 7. This is a inspirational post and best of luck for week 8 - not that you'll need it :)

Mummycav profile image
MummycavAdministratorGraduate in reply to snack_shack

😂 it was def exciting!! I'll admit that when I saw how hard the rain was I thought "oh no, I really don't fancy another soaking!! Shall I? Sharnt i?? But I did...& it was my fav run so far 🏃🏼‍♀️

Brilliant post, new trainers, new love and new life. How many people can say that happens all in 25 minutes...

It could have been just an escaped lion or an axe-murderer..nothing to bother a RUNNER like you!!!

But it was a fellow with a knife!!!! EEEEEEEkkk!

Oh my goodness!!!!

You are amazing, and what has struck me is.. you are more concerned with the run and how you feel than running past bushes hiding a miscreant!!!!

What are you like!!! You really are a RUNNER!!!

Go you... new trainers and onward and upwards!

Mummycav profile image
MummycavAdministratorGraduate in reply to Oldfloss

🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️ nothing can stop me now!!!...and it wasn't the 'Oldfloss' bush he was hiding in, just in case you were wondering???!!

😂😂😂😂 I half expected a copper to lean out of the helicopter with a mega phone & shout "get out of the park!!!" Seeing as this didn't happen I thought it must be safe!

Hey, I expect the police thought let's get a close look at those trainers on that fast runner down there I bet she's done a few 100k"s 😁😁 that's to come my lovely. Which trainers did you buy then? I swear by Asics at the mo, but would like to try a different brand one day xx 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏅🏅🏅well done.

I ended up with New Balance...had my gait assessed at 'Up & running' in the nearest big town where I live...I love them, they're very light & comfy!! They just kept going!!!! That must be it...the helicopter was getting a look at my trainers for part of their uniform...it all makes sense!!! Lol x
