Ok, bagged my 4th run today!! Found it a little tough to be honest, and ended up with bad headache afterwards.... maybe I need to take a drink with me? But feeling very pleased with myself.... next run Tuesday πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Jancanrun has the great tip of half filling a bottle of water the night before and leaving it in the freezer overnight then topping it up in the morning and taking it with you.

Headaches are normally dehydration.

I have a mug of water before I go and take the bottle with me as well

You really should not need to take water with you on these runs..no real need to take water on anything less than a 5K run.( Unless you are running somewhere really really hot.. !) Hydration all the time is essential and not just on run days:)

It could have been that or anything else really.. a less than restful night or just slightly under par...You did well... just take it slow and very steadily.. and you will be fine:)

I'm by no means an expert, but stiff neck/back muscles are my number one headache cause. I need to stretch them regularly to prevent headaches.

Also well worth drinking extra water in the couple of hours before a run- to be on the safe side!

It's also possible you've just exerted more than you're used to - extortion headaches are a thing I believe! Keep an eye on it and see how you go!

Thanks, yes I feel neck and shoulders are a bit tight now you mention it....!

Firstly well done - you are doing this like us all - I too suffered with headaches when first running ( in on wk 7r3 ) and now drink lots of water each day as need it before and after runs . Heard on here good hydration also helps with reducing cramps etc - again this helped .

Keep running and drink lots more .

Will do. I prefer to run early morning, so I'm probably dehydrated to start with!! I'll up my fluids! Thanks

I run in mornings too. I just make sure to drink water all the time even on days I don't run. I never used to drink much water. Now I go through two litres/day easily. First thing I wake up is half a litre of water.

I normally drink at least a pint half hour before I go, I always find carrying a drink of it of a pain in the bum !

Yep it's the old water thing drink plenty throughout the day etc you end up going to the bathroom like a race horse I read once but it's definitely the answer ... I drink a glass before heading off and it's normally grand til I get back πŸΆπŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘

Well done, bud. I also did Wk2 R1 today but really did not feel like it as out drinking at friend's 50th yesterday. Drank plenty of water before I went. Hey - We did 4 runs in a week - go us!!!!
