I am a 36yr old living in denial about my alcohol addiction and I just want to quit and save my marriage and be the dad I should be to my son so I'm here to get back in peak form (not that I'm fat, no beer belly just out of practice and no discipline ) and l want to be there for my wife and my son for as long as possible.

Alcohol addiction is no joke. Get all the help you need from wherever you can find it -- you, your son, and your wife deserve it. Good on you for making healthy choices.

I totally understand your motivation to do this programme. It will give you such mental strength that I'm sure will help you and this forum is great for support (that's why we 'graduate' and still hang around for years after!) Remember to take each run steadily, the goal is time-measured not speed, and let us know how you get on. Good luck...and yes, your family will be proud of you. 🙂

Tried AA? Running will help on many levels but dealing with alcoholism requires a bit more than it can supply.

Sincerely wishing you the best in your efforts to live well.

I would seek professional help. Getting fit will certainly help and the programme is a great start

I gave up boozing several years ago and never looked back. It can be done and you can turn your life round but you have to fully commit, and stick like glue

Good luck 🙂👍
