Psychological barriers are the hardest to cross!

I have had 3 weeks away from running due to laziness, a holiday and the hardest - the quiet voice in my head that kept telling me it would be too hard to run after a break.

Well - pleased to report that this morning I got up, drank some water and went out for a run. I decided I would aim for 5k but not worry if I had to walk some. I did walk for a couple of very short bursts (less than 50 metres but managed to do 5k in 43 minutes! So pleased and feel like I can get moving no again.

It proved to me that having done the couch to 5k my basic level of fitness has improved! 😊

Ignore the voices in your head unless they are telling you winning Lottery numbers!

Very well done you for getting out there... :) Good time too!!

I find that the longer you leave it, the harder it gets to put your running shoes on and get out there. BUT you did it - so well done - it's all downhill now!

I always worry about stuff like that too, good to know it doesn't all go out the window with a bit of time off! Well done for getting back at it.
