Week 7

Well I have completed Week 7 not the best runs having worked 3 10.5 shifts and then having to set the alarm for 5.15am just so that I could do the runs - but determination took over and either I am bonkers or an addict I reluctantly I did it , cannot believe I am so close and can see the target and week 9 in sight- this week may hit a few problems as we are flying to Greece on Tuesday therefore 2 of the runs will have to be done in the heat :( or a ridiculous time in the early hours :(

As ever... I am in awe! Well done you... again!!

Hey heartless what a great performance as ever, those shifts man they must hurt and then to run after. Wow.

To make your potentially hot running cool, here's my tips, gleaned from my first request for help and tweaked a bit whilst Lucifer visited.

Go early in the day, target shady areas (do a walk at the run time, so you can see where they are)

Wet your vest, and hair - including my fave 'beauty tip' condition it at the same time, it helps protect it and stops you getting straw hair... looks awful I have to admit, so if you're aiming for chic runner look then maybe not for you!

Put your water bottle half filled in freezer compartment over night and top up with water in the morning. It stays colder longer and also gives you something cold to hold.

Be prepared to slow your pace considerably. even with my limited experience I reckon my cold pace is about 25% faster than the hot pace.

At this time of year if running quite early the mossies are still out, so protect yourself with anti-mossie spray.

Sunscreen, sunscreen sunscreen.

But all of the above fade into insignificance as hurdles compared to running after shifts, so I am sure as ever you'll do the runs with wings at your heels.

Not what you're looking for?
