Average pace/split pace

It seems that these two terms can mean the same thing and then again not.

It would appear that in some instances split pace is the time per lap/kilometre which is the same as average pace.

However on another occasion split pace and average pace can be different, this is when average pace is just that but split pace is the pace of your final lap/kilometre

The above info is according to google which I am assuming is correct!

Average pace can be for any part of a run (in which case it is a split), or for the whole run.

Average pace for a five kilometre run is one figure, which is the average of each kilometre split.

Clearer?

yes but "map my run" which I use gives average pace for the whole run and split pace for the last1k
