Week 7 Run 1 - A Runners Nod

So at the end of week 6 I was called a runner. I was a little apprehensive about his run because of the euphoria of Sunday I had to psych myself up to do that same run again. But today there were no obstacles, I hit the mini roundabout and a white van slowed down and let me cross so I didn't have to stop, and then just after I had a nod from a running guy who was going in the opposite direction. It was like a physical acknowledgment that I am in fact now a runner πŸƒ!! I also crossed paths with a lovely old lady and her little dog and she gave me a lovely smile. I don't know if that's because it was the start of the uphill and she knew what was coming, or because my face shade matched both my top and hat. #pink 😝

But run 1 went by without a hitch. My average heart rate was 11bpm lower than Sunday's exact same run and the pace was better too. I have said before that I'm a stats geek. But that's because my stats are telling me the same as I'm feeling. That I'm getting fitter. My resting heartbeat has gone from 67bpm down to 59pm in the last month too. Love love love Couch to 5k!!!

Today was a lunchtime run as I'm working from home due to child issues over night. Nightmares from the eldest and teething from the youngest. So was a warm 21 degrees too. Before and after picture for a laugh.

Thanks Martin 😊 when is your next run? Thursday I'm running from my mums so from the new Spar on the A6 and heading up towards Swinton and turning around at the bell.

Hi, my next run is on Thursday, run 3 week 5, 20 minutes non stop, I'm not sure how I feel about it. πŸ˜„πŸ˜°

Just keep telling yourself that you can do it. Kick any gremlins out of your mind. Take it easy and you'll do it. If I could then anyone can! I was nervous for that one too. It seems a big jump but Michael said about half way that this run is about training your mind. Make sure you let us know how you do. I'll have a look out for your post.

There's something very satisfying about getting nods and greetings from fellow runners, I agree. Great news for your heart rate - satisfying, again, to get statistical evidence of your progress and increasing fitness. Next time, challenge the old lady and her dog to a race up the hill :) Sorry to hear you had a bad night - I hope your children are feeling better (they generally decide to perk up as soon as you give in to the temptation for a nap).

Well Flynn went to nursery fine and Erica went for a day or with her Grandma. So I think they're better than me πŸ˜‚ actually the run made me feel better than I did before it.

well done, sounds like it's all coming together for you

MrsT you are rocking that raspberry Bellini look....and the improvement in your stats must feel fantastic too.you are a runner, you always were especially the day you went out and bought all the gear too! Sorry nightmares and teething hit you, but only a committed runner would have taken that in her stride oh and gone out at lunchtime when it's hotter too. Brilliantly done.
