Painful knees after w1?

Hi all. Two weeks ago I did my first run with the c25k app. I am a complete beginner and have pretty much not run since PE class in school! My first run was on the Thursday and was a very slow gentle jog and i managed it fine. I did not ache or have any pain after. However, on the Sunday I had a brisk 15 minute walk on a treadmill. Ever since sunday I have had a whole week of painful knees. Both knees! I am trying to figure out what I have done because as I say I was pain free for a good few days after my jog and the walk seems to have set me off!

It's very common to have sore knees soon after we start running. It's just the knees getting used to the movement. Make sure you stretch after every run and every day in fact.

Rest up until your knees recover and then start doing strengthening exercises

Just the aches and pains and the body getting grumblesome with you! Rest up and then try some of the exercises that Her majesty suggests!
