Stepping onto the podium

I completed my week 9 run 3 this morning and am over the moon to graduate the programme. Huge thank you to all who have helped to keep me motivated when I might have given up. I started the programme for the second time back in March after reading Adler92 post saying he was about to start. At week five I went on three weeks holiday and only managed three runs then after my first run back got an injury playing with the dog which wiped me out for a couple of weeks. It is only because of the encouragement from the forum (with special thanks to Oldfloss, and Jancanrun who must have commented on nearly every post - take a bow ladies and know that you really did make a difference) you have all helped me to reach the graduation post. I never thought I would make it to the end and in doing so it has made me realise nothing is impossible. Thank you :)

Thank you Adler, as I said it was your post at the beginning that gave me the shove to start again so a special thank you to you. Hope your side is behaving and happy running :)

Well done Bunty, you should be so proud of yourself, I'll hopefully be graduating in 4/5 weeks.

Thank you Martin and good luck for your remaining weeks it is definitely worth it :)

Bunty well done and so glad both feet firmly on the podium and bright shiny medal all yours. It's a pleasure to have played a tiny part in supporting you getting there. But it was your head that got you out and your legs that did the running.... brilliant stuff. So what's next then?👟👟👟🍷🍷🍷🛏🛏🛏

Thank you Jan, I'm close but not quite at 5k yet so I'm planning my first Parkrun on Saturday to see how that goes and then build up to hopefully a 10k organised run later in the year. :)

Thank you Liz, I was 4.5km this morning which was slightly less than run 2 so doing Parkrun will give me the feel of the 5km that I need.

Party, party, party🎁🎉🏃🏼‍♀️🌟🥇🎁🎉

So glad to hear you are ready to start the next chapter!!

Don't worry if those around you don't understand how childishly ecstatically illogically proud of yourself you feel, there are plenty of us here who get it!!

Hi bunty65 just wanted to say congratulations and well done as I didn't have chance to comment whilst on holiday. What a fabulous feeling eh? 👊

Many thanks Paula, yes it was an amazing feeling a great sense of achievement to go from virtually no exercise to running 5km in 43.54 (including the 5 minute warm up and cool downs). Hope all is going well with your running :)

We're running at pretty much the exact pace, I did 5k Monday in just over 43 minutes with the 5 minute warm up and the cool down walk home. Thought I would time my actual run this morning and it was 4K in the 30 minutes so I've got a bit to go yet, getting there though and I think I'm going to be running for many years to come. I walked the dog for 30 minutes each morning and night but that was the the only exercise I did. Amazing!!!

I was thinking my time was really slow for 5km and was frankly just over the moon to be able to make the distance, but it sounds like I'm about right which is really encouraging thank you.
