Park run a most uplifting experience

Graduated three weeks ago and then two days later fell and bruised my knees and ankles so had to put my first park run on hold. Finally went this morning and had a marvellous time. Didn't get too excited and paced myself and finished in 36 minutes so dead chuffed. I love running by myself as it gives me time to think but once a week I am now going to Join the park run crowd and be uplifted. A great start to the weekend!

I did my first 'run' at Parkrun today - what a super atmosphere! Very encouraging. Glad you enjoyed it too. :)

Great isn't it?

Have you registered your club as NHS C25K, just to let the world know and you can look up results for all others in this club too.

How do you look up those results IannodaTruffe ?

Hi Rebecca. On your parkrun results page, click on the club name (NHS C25k), that will take you to the club results from that particular run, but at the top of that page there should be a hyperlink to Consolidated club results......and hey presto, you can have a nosey about and see the results for all club members. You can also click on an individual runner and look at their records.

On the basic results page you can click on column headers to rearrange results in different ways. It is a clever system.......but very public......

Ah yes, I see! There's not many of us and I'm right at the bottom - but you know enough about me by now to know that doesn't bother me. I will get faster and the joy of running about 4.9km more than I could have done six months ago is enough for me! Hope you're doing ok x

It is great to see that " love" for running slowly evolve in you.

I'm still here and feeling fine.

Yes I did I remember that from an earlier post but hadn't realised I could look everyone else up so I will do that as well thanks

ParkRun is great. I love how it welcomes all sorts of runners/walkers so it doesn't matter how fast or slow you are, it's a chance to get out there and take part in a great event. Whoever thought of it deserves a medal.

Good. That's the kind of person I like to see receiving an honour, not some celeb or donor to a political party

I always want to stay in bed but I know that I will feel so much better after a parkrun. I volunteered last week and that was very uplifting too. Parkrun is a great idea.

Well done. Parkrun is an amazing movement. I just love Saturday mornings now. Today was my 11th Parkrun and next week will be my third to be a volunteer. I now meet lovely friendly people every week on a first name basis who were strangers a few weeks ago.

I did PR with my daughter who is visiting from London, and her old school friend, who did PR for the first time. Another c25k convert on week 9. 😀It was terrific as ever! Love it!

Another thing I enjoy about Parkrun is chatting to others about their running experiences. Yesterday I was tail walking with someone who runs Ultras, that was really interesting to chat about. And while I am running and talking, I know I'm keeping a healthy pace for my heart rate too ❤️
