Gutted. Don't think I can continue...

Well I posted a couple of weeks ago about pain behind my left knee and back of my thigh after W7R2. I rested up for several days/a week

then tried again yesterday going back to a gentle W6R1. Felt ok whilst running and really, really wanted to do more stayed with it... but today it has been really sore again, my knee feels heavy and kind of 'thick'...maybe, fluid? I'm away on holiday now and was looking forward to graduating W9 whilst here. Not likely now. Will go see a physio when I get back but totally gutted today. 😑

Don't despair! I restarted the programme twice, once after working on muscle strength, the second after doing a lot of stretching. I got there in the end, and running feels great. Physio might be good, as would getting your shoes checked.

Hmm. Not sure what that is but it sounds as if it needs rest at least. Enjoy your holiday. See how you get on with walking. Maybe that won't bother it and you can get out and about sightseeing

You poor thing, but don't let not graduating I pact your holiday. Being gutted is perfectly understandable and we are all behind you on your rehab journey. Please enjoy your break, see the physio and once you know what you have to do, it will be exactly like the C25K programme. It will build you up slowly to the graduation podium. Best of luck

"Don't think I can continue....." is a bit of an alarmist attitude. You are quite right to rest and it is understandable that you feel gutted but I would be surprised if a good physio cannot sort your problem. This is a setback and all runners have them at some stage, so you need to accept the situation and find the best route to move forward. Stay positive and problems are minimised and what is more important, life is still fun.

Keep smiling............just hold the running.

I know this might feel frustrating but I agree with the advice above - rest up and enjoy your holiday, then see a good physio for advice. I had to take 3 months out when I did the programme due to injury but went on to graduate. That was nearly 2 years ago now so please don't think this has to be the end of your running journey! Take care and good luck.

Enjoy your holiday, forget the running and see a physio when you get back. You may even just need different shoes.
