Hi there, for those who know me the title is very apt for me at the moment, but I know I'm not alone with the heat and those on the IC many of us can empathise with the title and for those running regularly and training for events it fits for you too, may we all be back running together soon.

Welcome to Week 3 Hope youre all doing okay.:-)

What the quest is:-

The quest takes six weeks.

You can join any time within that six weeks.

The main aim of the quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.

We ask that you are a graduate . The main reason we ask this is that while you are doing the program your plan is very structured, so we wouldn't want the quest to interfere with that.

Most popular goals are:-

To run three times a week

To slowly increase distance

To train for a specific race

To add In Stretch and strength exercises

As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice.

Every week I will pin a new post where all the members of the quest can talk about how things are going

.

So if you wanted to join all you have to do is put

I would like to join the quest, or count me in and then I would like to. ..............

Your name will be added for the duration of the Quest.

Good Luck everybody !

My quest for a sub 30 minute 5k is still a work in progress. Last week I had a good 5k run on Tuesday, and enjoyed it. I was in London with work on Thursday and brought my running gear. I did a 5k run after the meeting from the London eye to The Shard and back again. That was fantastic. However that night I over did some celebrating and did not drink enough water to rehydrate on Friday. As a result I was dehydrated on Saturday morning for the Parkrun. I started off well with a good pace of 6:00 min/km for the first 2 km but could not maintain the pace. After a while I had to walk for a couple of times. I just wanted to go home. But thankfully I kept going. I finished with a time of 34:32, but I finished.

There is always next week and next month. I'll start again tomorrow. Have a good week everyone.

I did it! Set myself the goal of doing a parkrun during the Quest period. I finally did it this weekend! 🌻🌻

Went out for 2 runs last week (Well, both run/walk combos!) - both 10 mins run/3 mins walk x2 + a bit extra. Now over 4k, if you include the warm up and cool down walks!! Need to reach 5k total before the end of the month to get my virtual medal🏅 - so 2 more weeks to get there!! 🏃‍♀️🤞

Also trying to do my physio exercises 🏋️‍♀️ on rest days (which wasn't one of my original goals, but he has set them , so I would be foolish not to do them!).

Did a few days in a row of yoga, went for a proper run... and an impromptu one later the same day trying to keep up with my long legged son who was walking. It was a really busy week so I am very pleased with what I managed to do.

Three good 30 +min runs last week and another very hot one today...

May try a longer one Wednesday evening if its cooler...

Did run this evening, but not a longer one. I seem to have that 30 minute barrier I had after graduation...can't seem to push further without a walk break and reluctant to start B210k yet...

Nothing interesting to report from me, I'm still plodding away, had some good runs and some not so good ones, there have been some very humid days here. I'm learning that I prefer the full-on glaring sun to the overcast heavy days. Still intending to do that race I missed solo soon, just waiting for some cooler weather.

Not running today 😐. Going to follow my own advice and not run with a painful ankle. It hurts when I walk, so running isn't going to help it

Hopefully ok for Monday ....

Ticking along nicely since my last report with a couple of decent parkruns just over 35 minutes. I ran the full hour of Polyrunner 162 and three of Polyrunner 164, building up the time from about 24 minutes to 41 minutes. Also a holiday run from the campsite to the beach without music which was only about 29 minutes, but steeply uphill in places.

Parkrun tomorrow then we are off to Scotland and Orkney. We are staying 3 nights in each campsite so hope to fit in at least one run in each location, including meeting the Scapa Loop Group in Orkney.
