Today is a non-running day, I completed W4 yesterday, so I have been doing a few core strength exercises (squats, lunges, press ups and planking). While stretching I actually managed to touch my toes! For the first time in at least 10 years. I'm loving these little achievements.

Well done. It is Great ham string stretch. I am slowly working down to touching my toes again, it is one you actually have to be careful of doing as it can pull very easily. Keep going with it, it will help your running future.

Yes, unfortunately running can tighten the ham strings which makes touching your toes a little more difficult but saying that all the more reason to keep slowly trying to touch them as it helps ease them off and keep injury at bay, just make sure you never push past your comfort zone when doing it as thy can injure quite easily.
