Despite all the times that I wanted to give up i stuck with it and proved that this girl can!! 5.08k in 40 minutes. I can't say that I've enjoyed every minute of it because that would be the biggest lie ever and I can't even say that I like running now either but I do like the feeling of satisfaction that I get afterwards and the big grin that appears on my face like magic and lets not forget the well earned shower too.
Thankyou everyone for the encouragement and kind words and a special huge thankyou to another member on here 'Jevand' who completed her own fantastic c25k journey recently, she believed in me and supported me throughout and I can honestly say she got me through the gremlins nightmare time and time again.
Next challenge for me is the 10k in September and as long as I don't finish last i'll be happy.
For anyone just starting if I can do the c25k then anyone can.
Not every run has been a good run but as they say even a bad run is better than no run at all.
I've stamped on the gremlins and I know that they're still out there waiting to pounce, but for the time being they're staying away and guess what?? when they come back I'll be ready for them....I can do it and I'm so proud of myself π
Well done! Your c25k journey sounds familiar. I am hopefully graduating on Saturday and have entered a 10K in October. I would be interested to know how you will be increasing your distance. Not sure I could double mine very easily. Are you going to follow a plan or just jog a bit longer each week and hope you get to 10K?
So proud of you mate. I knew you could do it. You believed in yourself and persevered when you thought it was bad. As for coming last in the 10K. There is no shame in that. As long as you complete it at your own pace it will be such a mega fantastic achievement. 11 weeks ago we hated running 3p seconds and 1 minute. Just look at what you have achieved. You should be mighty proud. I am xxx π x
