Phew, wow and yikes!

So 13 weeks after starting the C25K, one repeat week, some illness and extra rest days . . . . I did it.

Completed W9R3 today :)

Looking forward to that nice badge :D

I plan to keep going. Thanks for all the support and encouragement along the way. It was essential.

Thanks damienair . I hope to. Did you keep running after graduation? If so, how did you proceed?

I only graduated last Thursday. So I'm just after finishing the plan like you. I did a Parkrun last Saturday and got a new PB of 32:23 for the 5k, found it tough. Went running yesterday evening for 5 k, found it hard going for some reason and had to walk/run after 2km. But hey I got out, it was a practice session. I joined my local Athletics club and am going to meet with them for the first time tomorrow evening. Timed 5k on the track I think.

My aim for this year is to get comfortable and consistent with running 5k in under 30 mins and loose another stone in weight. Next Spring I will perhaps up the training to 10k and do some 10k runs next summer.

I am enjoying running, but still not comfortable at it. But like you I'll get there.

Damien.

All sounds familiar damienair :)

I have been along to my local parkrun volunteering a few times. Plan to do a parkrun when I get more comfortable running 5k (and actually running 5k).

I like your plan, sounds similar to my loose plan. Not sure about joining a club though, but never say never.

I still have a few stone to lose, and running definitely makes that possible (as well as eating properly).

Good luck and well done.

No need to wait until you can run 5k to do a Parkrun. I've done 6 Parkruns so far and only manage to fully run 1 of them. My first aim was to run/walk my way around in under 40 mins. Each time I've done one since I have shaved some time off. Still running and walking. Even at my first run I loved it. It was nice to take part and finish. Don't put it off, it's great.

Well done! Congratulations!! You did it! We knew you could!

So, you're a runner ey. What's that fee like then? I hope you are doing well with the healthy eating too. It's a good idea to carry it on for life now that you've made a start. Running regularly will certainly help in that regard. I find that running burns calories quite like nothing else; well cepperhaps a bit of strength training with Jillian Michaels. Take up walking more too! Cheap but really good for you

No sign of your Graduate badge but I dare say it will appear shortly.

Happy running! You will keep it up won't you!

Thanks misswobble , glad someone had faith in me :)

The eating plan went to pot with recent illness (in that I wasn't counting calories) but I'm sure that it was not too bad. I missed the past couple of weigh ins, but this morning my weight was slightly down on the last one :)

Yes, definitely plan to keep on running. Setting new mini-goals as I type.

Stick to eating healthily! Make it your new way of life. Chuck out the old regime! You won't regret it. Make unhealthy eating just something you no longer do. That was the OLD you! If you are ill you need even better food! It's not difficult once you get into the habit of it. As a runner you will need good grub. No messin!

Thanks Jcab , you're nearly there, well done :)

Funny how the inspired become the inspiration. What a great system, a virtuous circle if ever there was one.

You did it! Just like that! I've followed snippets of your journey here and there and I feel confident this is the beginning of a long affair with running. Congrats :)
