The importance of wind.

In future the weather condition that I will look at the closest is the wind strength. I have decided that it has been the factor that has made a difference to how comfortable the runs are for me. Wonder if others find the same ?

Definately- I always look at wind strengths!! Particularly if it's going to be very warm because a cool wind can make a hot run a bit more bearable!

I'm up in the North Pennines and barely a day goes by that there's no wind! I've learnt to embrace it and look at it as resistance training :D !...xx

Ah. Not that strong!

Oh yes! I'm constantly not going because it's windy or berating myself for being such a wimp! I've done a few runs where I've taken on the windy conditions head first but I have to be in the right mood to enjoy it. I've learnt to accept myself and not fret to much about it!

Agreed. Am near cliffs in Sussex and run frequently into south westerlies. And not many hedges to hide behind. Some days I can't face it - other days I just lean into it one way and lean back on the return. On rare still days running by the sea is better than chocolate. X

I'm in the landlocked West Midlands and would give up chocolate in a heartbeat to run on cliffs by the sea!

Could there be such a thing as chocolate miles? I.e. You bank chocolate money and then spend it on travelling to aspirational running routes. I quite fancy damp woods covered w bluebells (timing crucial, too).

Couldn't run by the sea I would keep getting in to swim lol

Oh I mean I wait until it is a bit more windy. I guess the wind speeds here are less than yours. (Although I may be odd as I don't like swimming in water over 22 degrees)

I think I understand- sea water round here tops at about 17deg in Sep which is GORGEOUS. Am hoping my grad run could end in a swim. Prob about 15 Deg by then. Lovely planet. X

Only trouble under 15degrees is the "ice cream" headache :(
