I want my money back! πŸ˜‚

After 2 months of C25K, I was ready for my children's sports day. Their little eyes glistened with anticipation at mummy running "the mums race"! I admit that at 5ft 1 1/2, my legs are a little shorter than the other mums...but seriously I can now jog a full 5k-in 30 minutes! We all lined up under starters orders, and whoosh, off we went...hurtling towards the finish line I came in LAST! Like I said....C25K-I want my money back!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜†πŸƒ

Lol I had a similar experience. I had raised the expectations of my two children and my own if I am to be honest, the sack race, I didn't realise how competitive sports day could be and as much running as I have done, it counted for nothing, I came last. Even the guy who feel over got over the line before me.

Great!!! This made me smile! Proves the C25K mantra though.. slow and steady... Mo Farah, not Usain Bolt.:)

Your children will think you are amazing anyway!!! :)

Lol first time I've ever heard of Mo Farah being described as "slow and stead"!!! I'll take his slowness any day. πŸ˜‰

Suggest next year they have a mum's 5k race.

I suggested my children's school had a fathers boxing tournament. Like that celebrity boxing programme they had a few years ago. Β£5 entry for charity. The suggestion was not well received. Which was a shame, as I was really keen.

Too right. I asked my son to request a 10km fathers' race 🏁 Not heard back!

Hey, you did it so it is great. You just run for the fun of it. Let say, You did not want to compete, you just want to enjoy it . Well done.

I'm guessing the mum's race was a 100m sprint? You are a long distance runner - much more elegant and refined!!

Yes and no doubt some of the yummy mummies were wearing running spikes

I didn't see spikes, but there was definitely the odd pair of running trousers, and trainers πŸ˜‰

I remember, many years ago, entering the mums race (I was quite speedy in those days). We lined up at the start line and I looked round to see a load of massive (tall and powerful rather than fat) Yorkshire farmers and farmer's wives. They thundered down the track trampling little me as they went.... my oldest is now 25 and living in China but I am still traumatised as you probably can tell 😁😎😁
