like a fool, i went out today for w7r2 but didnt do stretching. I completed it - legs a bit heavy but just started period so no surprise. Anyway 2 hours later and going up and downstairs, it feels like an elastic band pinging at the bottom and back of ankle. No pain at all. Is it my Achilles? I'm having to miss next few runs due to period which is probably for the best. anyone else had this?

If there isn't any pain, in teh words of Donnie Brasco..."fuhgeddaboutit."
If it was your Achilles detaching, you would be writing in capital letters........... probably on your way to A&E.
Make a note of it, in case it shows again, but, as Squatmeister says, if there is no pain or restricted mobility, don't worry.
Stretching after the run gently extends and realigns muscles and tendons while they are still warm and supple.
If it was Achilles.. you would know it. I was in plaster for a loooooong time
Try some gentle stretching massages and maybe when you head out again.. a tad slower and make sure you are landing lightly Hope it feels better soon
sore this evening - plenty of ice and fingers crossed
That sound very much like your Achilles tendon and a pinging sounds like a rupture. Once ruptured, it may not hurt anymore. You must have this looked at because if it is a rupture, it will not heal on its own. I am afraid I must disagree with some posts, I have seen many patients who have waited for an Achilles rupture to get better and made things worse as once gone, it starts to shorten. Those that say it was very painful probably had a partial not complete rupture. I don't want to scare you but it needs a proper examination to be sure, history alone in this case is not adequate.
feels a lot better today - no pinging feeling or soreness. however will not be running a few days due to ladies problems .. and then will watch it carefully - thanks for the advice
