Running time 32 mins | distance covered ZERO!

A good job I wasn't relying on GPS to know where I was. Fortunately I was on one of my favourite routes, 4 other joggers and lots of friendly dogs (& their owners!) this morning. It was 32 minutes actual running excluding any warm-up / cool-down walks and was a bit more than Laura said because I have a certain point I run to on that route. Anyway, W9R2 done : I'll get that W9R3 done before my short hospital visit next Tuesday, even if I have to crawl it!

David, you're doing inspiringly great! I've done totally nothing run wise since graduating apart from 2 parkrun shuffles well done and good look with the procedure x

Thank you! It's been one hell of a struggle for me until now to get this far. Amazingly I have recently (Week 7 ish) made an unexpected "breakthrough" and come to enjoy my "runs" - bet you never thought you'd hear me say that! Laura saying that "there's 10 minutes left now" triggers a brain response "Thanks for letting me know, that's OK!". It's time I did another Parkrun (done 3 so far, mostly walking them) because I'd like to actually run one now from start to finish. The snag is that running one will slow me down as I can still power-walk faster than I can jog. I deliberately tried to speed up today - with the GPS failure I don't know if I managed it, but I think I did. COME ON MotherPip get those trainers back on - I need someone to keep me going after I get back from hospital. Thanks for all your support, it has helped more than you'll ever know. xx

Thank you. I did 2 at my local one which is flat and can't get under 53. D(I hadn't graduated by then ) Then after grad did a hilly one in Glasgow and managed 51 something and then the home of parkrun, Bushy, where I managed 52 something in the blazing sun, cried then said I would never run again... But the fact I beat my local times on Pollok and Bushy spurted me to go back to my homerun again last week... Convinced I'd get a 51 something....but no , back in the 53s...disappointing... Then ended the morning post run with the man in my life having a rant at me for no reason and not speaking for 2 days.

This morning wind and rain which I would have loved to have a go in as C25K was nearly all in wind cold or rain... But was not keen on going as I assumed the man would be going... He decided he wasn't braving it... So I said I would....last minute tho... And he said he'd join me so got stressed and couldn't find my wee running belt so didn't go anyway.

So I need really to start running ...solo. the reason I struggle at parkrun seems to be anxiety based...we have a small easy walk from the briefing point at a clock tower round to the start... By which time I can barely get my breath... I start off slowly and try to focus on rhythm and breathing and anti gremlin talk and remember all my strategies I used in C25K. All to little or no avail. So annoying... I WANT to run...but seemingly can't so a large portion of the 5k is walked. My little legs are not fast at all...

So tonight back out on to the Promenade I think...just me and the stars and the moon or cloud and rain...the sound of the sea and maybe my music again and maybe C25K week 9. I am so envious that you are enjoying it.. I sort of enjoyed C25K...that was a big achievement for little fat me...but just knew I'd struggle after it. I envy my fella too... He started c25k... Did his 1st parkrun with me at our parkrun's inaugural event although only on about week 4 of C25K and ran it all without stopping and that was with a dodgy hamstring. He did 41 I think and is now managing 38/39... I wish that was me...

Forgot to say, I recently joined the beginners group of a local running club - I'm not yet sure if I like running in a group or whether I prefer running on my own. One change there is that there is a new "challenge" - a real live coach and not just the voice of the lovely Laura!

I have to admit that once I'd stopped cussing the technology I thought that a 32 minute run covering zero distance on Mapmyrun was amusing ... sounds as if I am back on the couch before the start of C25K!!
