So tomorrow I will be running for 20 minutes. Any advice on how to get through this. Never run before starting this neatly 2 months ago..,

My advice is...just go for it, try not to think about what's ahead. You've got this far, trust in the cleverness of the programme and yourself. I found this run just as hard, but not any harder than the rest.

Enjoy the feeling of achievement afterwards!

Thanks I suppose it's just the thought of running as it's a longer run than I've ever done

No matter how slowly you start - slow down even more. You will be fine - wether it turns out to be a practise run (we all have those every now and then, even after Graduation believe me) or a success run ;)

Slow and steady... it is the only way. You have built up to this in each of your previous runs and you are ready for it. :)

One foot in front of the other, gently and lightly and relax into the run...enjoy it :)

It is oh so tempting to look at the clock when doing the longer runs. Try and avoid that. There is nothing worse than feeling tired and seeing that you have X amount left to run. If you are a clock watcher, break the run down into 5 minute chunks (You know you can run for 5 minutes).

Take it slowly. If you are feeling tired slow down some more but keep those legs moving. You WILL do this. Go for it.

Slowly does it. Really, really slowly does it. Your body is capable but it's getting your head to believe it that's the problem with this run! Take all the advice above but more than anything take it slow and steady. You really can do it😊

As the others have said - go as slow as you can! I did the w5r3 run last week and found it much easier than the 2 week 6 runs I've now done that are back to intervals again. I'm pretty convinced it's because I was going super slowly for w5r3 and trying to be a bit cocky for the week 6 ones!

The other thing I'd say is that I found my body was totally ready for the 20 minute run. It was my mind that wasn't ready. I looked down at my wee legs at about the 10 minute mark and thought "how are you doing this"! What I'm trying to say is "you're ready for this"!

Can't wait to hear how you get on!

Thanks everyone for your help and encouragement. WE DID IT. I run with my friend and we got up early as we knew it was going to be hot.

So happy to have achieved this run and we actually didn't feel too bad after the 20 minutes 😁🏃🏃🏃😁

Trust in yourself and the programme, slowly, calmly and breathe. You are stronger than you know. Happy 🏃‍♀️🙂

Don't do as I did and go out with new trainers without eating and drinking! Ran for 15 mins and could have finished but then got cramp/pulled muscle in calf muscle. You can do it.

Funny we had bought new trainers but this was our second run in them. Rest and then try again. Don't give up. Good luck
