That's week 8 done! My Fitbit always says I am in the peak zone but I couldn't run any slower if I tried! Cream crackers!

which tells you everything you need to know about your Fitbit

I don't know anything about fitbits but is there a way of calibrating it?My HRM constantly tells me the same thing, but I can run 10k while in the high zone, so obviously my max HR is higher than suggested for my age, but I have never got round to establishing exactly what it is.

If you can cope at that pace then ignore the technology.

No idea - bit of a technophobe but no not really coping - struggle from start to finish!

it sounds like you need to slow your pace, less steps per minute. Don't worry if you could walk faster, it's establishing that running motion that's important early on.

Go on dashboard screen for Fitbit, at bottom right it says Account. Click there. Then half way down screen it says Heart Rate Zones, press that. The next screen should show you what you want.

Just remember, the Fitbit, like all such devices are not entirely accurate, but they are consistent. So look for relative changes, if it's always giving you higher than actual numbers BUT these numbers come down over the months ahead, then your fitness is improving.

Hope that helps😀😀

If you are not coping and struggling from start to finish, then your Fitbit is just telling you what you already know. And the answer to that is slow down some more. Unless you are standing still you can always slow down.

Nope- couldn't go any slower if I tried!

I bet you could. I struggled right up W7 or so with my breathing and was convinced I had slowed down as much as it is possible while still technicall jogging. Then one day I had an epiphany while running with my then 3 yr old in the garden. I was doing that almost shuffle on the spot thing one does to reassure toddlers that you are actuall running with them, and it dawned on me that I was running way slower than ever before. And that I could do that for ages without getting puffed out.

So on my next run I tried it. Not quite as slow as toddler pace but viewing my pace through the lens of that realisation. And presto, I was slower, and Boom! I could breathe.

You can go slower.
