I did it! I didn't want to go out this morning, we had a family bereavement last night so I told the wife I was putting my shoes away as my head wasn't in the right place, she told me to think of this mornings run as a time to reflect and think on my own, with no distractions. So, I did as I was told (reluctantly) and headed out of the door and down to the river.

It was perfect nobody but me out, even the usual dog walkers were avoiding the rain.

I did my run whilst thinking of my uncle and the good times and found the memory I kept coming back to was him being my guinea pig while I practiced my sales techniques, telling me where I was going wrong and that the only way I would ever achieve anything was to be stubborn, set my sights on something and go for it.

So I did, and while this was the most emotional run I think I'll ever do, it was also the one that flew by the quickest!

Thanks Denis, I'll have a whiskey with you tonight ☺

Sorry for your loss, but good on your wife, probably the best thing you can do at this time. Sounds like you had a really good, peaceful, reflective run.

Yep, it's a good thing to do. We can find our loved ones in lots of places, and connect, have a chat πŸ™‚ I know if my mum was alive she would have wanted to do the programme with me, but I can still take her with me πŸ˜ƒπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

You have a tough time coming up with the funeral etc. Things do calm down a bit after that but if you are clearing a person's effects that can be very hard as well. We need a bit of time to ourselves or we can go under. There, have a hug πŸ™‚

A very wise wife! Im sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds like lovely memories of a treasured uncle.

Apply his words to your running journey and draw on them if ever you need to.
