Hill Work Followed By "Easy Miles", so called.

I was not feeling this at all when I left this morning. My body did not want to run. ughh, but I wanted to push this monstrosity of a hill. Wow, I wonder how long it will be before I can jog continuously up that thing. Unbelievable.

7.2 miles broke into 3 segments.

1) Warm up walk.

(0.7mi 106ft ascent 17:45/mi 173 calories)

2) Work out, 752f up hill for 2.3 miles, followed by an "easy mile" decent. (Easy Miles means an easy pace at which I can breath easily) - That climb however about killed me. My hips felt like Gumby in a heatwave by the time I finally got to the top.

(4.9mi 752ft 15:59/mi calories 1,068)

strava.com/activities/97690...

3) Cool down walk home.

(1.4mi 108ft 17:52/mi calories 281)

Total of 7.2 miles with 856 of climbing in the first 3 miles. 1522 calories.

One more work out on Wednesday at Climax Canyon, the location of the 5K coming Saturday 5/13/2017. I will run the trail on Wednesday, then rest Thursday and Friday. I hope that's enough recovery for me. No matter, it is what it is.

I hope to beat my time of 48:34 for this trail run. I have no idea what kind of people will be there. We are such a small town and out of the beaten path.
