How do you cope with the dread? Literally don't know how I will be able to run for 20 mins. Does any one else find it daunting?

Yup! I'm one run behind you and I'm not confident about managing 8 mins, never mind 20. The programme has worked so far though... and if at first we don't succeed - we can try, try (very slowly and steadily) again :)

I was the same as you but 8 mins didn't seem that bad once I'd done it. Just seems a big jump from 8 to 20.

I am just remembering back to week one and how I didn't think I could manage a minute and now I can do 8 haha

Dont over think things. Just go for your run as usual and trust in the programme.

You will do great! 🏃🏻‍♀️

Going to keep thinking how great I will feel once I've done it

You don't look!

But.. you focus on how far you have come, you trust in the programme, and you have faith in yourself.. simple as that :)

You keep it slow, you keep it steady... and you just move very confidently forward...:)

"run number 15" ;-) is easier that run 1 I promise!

Only 12 runs to go after this :-D

You have just run for 16 minutes, dropping your pace to a fast walk halfway through for another 5 minutes, giving you 21 minutes altogether.

You've done the ground work. Physically you are able. Now you need to retrain your brain. Don't think about running down the clock. Just look ahead, get into your stride and go for it. Ignore the gremlins and don't stop until you are done.

I look forward to seeing your next post Charlottetrip So I can give you a virtual pat on the back for a job well done!

I'm literally just about todo this run and not quiet sure how I will manage it let alone the 20min run on wed ekk! What I do remind myself of is wk 1 I could barely run 1min without not being able to breath but now I've been doing 5 better then I managed the 1. So maybe I can do this

I remember dreading that run, but actually week 6 seemed harder mentally. You're prepared for it, if it's too hard just slow down, and soon you'll be looking back on it as not such a big deal. Good luck!

EXACTLY like the others say:

Slow and steady. Don't over-think it. Enjoy. Feel smug.
