Hi I've just joined up but have been doing the couch to 5k for a few weeks and today finished week5 run 2. Not sure how the next run will go it seems a jump. It's great to know there are lots of people following the podcast.

Welcome and good luck.

If you look at the Topics panel on the right hand side, you will see that there are more posts regarding W5 than any other apart from W1. You sound like you may be requiring reassurance about W5R3 (you are not alone) Read Rignold's definitive answer to all thos e fears, here healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Yo can do it.

Thanks I'll check it out, can't believe I've got this far, I do a lot of walking but never run before and I'm 56.

This is so encouraging for me because at 56 I'm starting at the beginning. Thank you for posting xxx

Wahey another Poppy !

Welcome aboard, yes you can do this , following the programme and a little bit of self belief will take you all the way to Graduation and beyond .

Good Luck and keep posting so we can cheer you along your way :-) xxx

Hey Poppyseed, I am 55 and due to run W5R3 tomorrow. Like you I walk a lot but I am not a runner (oh! maybe I am now!) I have found this forum incredibly helpful and I am really grateful for all of the Graduates (and others) who have 'been there and done that'

I go through a process each week that goes something like this:

This looks impossible, I'll never be able to do it

Oh I just did it. Whoop whoop...I could do the next run right now, but I need to take a rest day

This looks impossible, I'll never be able to do it......etc.

So I have learned to follow the program and it's working so far. It seems to have worked for loads of people too

Mind you, tomorrow looks a bit scary........

What is there to be scared of? If you don't complete the run, you repeat it....... what's the big deal?

Just get a good night's rest and do some facial stretches before starting out, otherwise you might just find that the grin hurts after a day or two.

Well today I finished week 5 and the 20 min run went well, it was warmer where I live today , up until now I've been wearing a hat and gloves but not today. Thanks for the support on to week6
