Wow! What an amazing resource! I've only just discovered this site! An aladins cave of info and help! I just turned 49, and am trying to lose 3 stone of weight (already lost 2), but it's become very, very slow (1lb every two weeks or so). I have previously been an exercise-phobe. Hated it! Much rather sit and read a good book thus the excess weight and aching joints. Time for change. I want to be my ideal weight before I turn 50. I'm super careful with my food, and have been walking at least 10,000 steps everyday. I love it, but feel it's not enough, so started the C25K but couldn't get past week one. I feel like a sack of potatoes and that everyone is sniggering at my efforts. Anyway, I'm back and determined! This time I shall graduate! On Monday I start week 2. I'm also going to do the strength and flex exercises on the other days. I'm determined. Wish me luck! πŸ’ͺπŸƒπŸΏ

Hi! Yes, have a "delve"😁 into c25k, it'll be a great benefit for you. It'll be tough as you go on, but look at Patrick's post, at nearly 75 what a shining example! Just take it slow & steady..Let us know how you go..😊

Haha! Good one! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I know it's going to be a killer, but I've got to do this!! I feel so pleased with myself when I've achieved the week, so think how great I'll feel when I run my first 5k! Yes, Patrick is an inspiration. I'll keep you posted!!πŸ˜€

I'm already past the 50 mark (actually now closer to 60!) and hadn't run since school. Even then I was a sprinter rather than distance runner. But I'm working my way through C25K and making good progress. Sticking to the programme exactly I've finished week 7, and yesterday did my first parkrun! Ran/walked 5k! If I can do it, you can do it. Take the advice and support on here - especially the go slow, then even slower - and you'll surprise yourself πŸ˜€

I'm doing the time but am I doing the distance!?

am being too cautious - what if at the end of the week 9 sessions I find that I can run for 30 mins...

I'm going to keep it up this time!

Not as easy as I thought it would be, but I'm determined.😁

W7r2, where is the time going?!

So the weeks are fair flying by now and I find myself in the later stages of the C25k programme. How

I'm going to do my second ParkRun

do it! I don't want to be last bloke again, so I'm going to run faster!

Difficult times. Can't do any runs. How far back should I go to get back into it?

the programme should I go? Should have done W5R3 a week ago.
