The first 3 maybe 4 weeks are fair straight forward even though week 4 is definitely starting to crank it up week 5 onwards seem very daunting. Everyone has a different fitness level and mine was rock bottom to begin with. But here I am week 4 day one complete. The distance was almost on 4 k over the total workout today. Seeing the distance covered increasing steadily week by week. Feeling bloomin great though. Even if I've lost zero pounds since I started haha. Despite that I do feel tons better and care not what the scales say.
What week did it get real for you? : The first... - Couch to 5K
What week did it get real for you?
W1R1 because I realised just how unfit I was and it scared me to keep going!
I've never looked back and that was four years ago.
Well due to you on getting to week 4. Keep going and don't worry about what the scales say, your body shape will change as you tone up and develop a runner's body 😊
I do alot of weights too and rowing after each run . Today was hard but felt amazing. Thankyou for the reply.
You might not see any weight loss as you will be losing fat and gaining muscle which is heavier.
The beginning was hard, the first 3, 5 then 8 minute runs scared me (how is that time even possible?!) and then the dreaded 20 minutes non stop gave me anxiety dreams!
A mile was an impossible dream to maybe achieve in the far distant future!
It gets easier each week and one day we all look back and think how much we have improved. Good luck to everyone starting out!
Like her majesty Irishprincess .. week 1... thought I might collapse in a heap!
Graduated 2015...Still running..three times a week... 67 tomorrow
Loving every minute of it
PS
Lose the scales...it is how you feel...not what the numbers say ..bit like old age actually
I had a few niggles in week 2 and week 3 related to me having shonky hips but once I was able to get over those, week 6 was the only really tough week for me.
Week 3 was the one I found hardest, no idea why...
