STRUGGLING!!! Failing at the final hurdle.

So its been a while since I posted! I got up to the 25 min run and then I began from the beginning again to support my sister who wanted to do the C25K as well..

We are now up to the 28 min run and for some reason I JUST CANT DO IT!!

I have dropped back to wk 5 and worked my way up again TWICE but I just have this block at 28 minutes that I can't seem to push past. We have joined a local gym so I'm fitting in other aerobic exercises and also some gentle weight work that a PT has given me to build up strength, in an aid to keep active and not lose motivation.

Any body have any tips to help me push past this final hurdle?

That's not a problem at all - if you can't at this time get past 28 minutes, then stop trying!!!! - finish with a walk. Do this enough times and you will get sick and tired of it and you WILL run the final 30 minutes!!!! Just don't stress about where you are - THAT is a surefire way to ruin everything!! :) Later - when you are running for 60 minutes at a time , you will wonder what all the fuss was about!!! :)

What is stopping you?

If you are exhausted........slow down. If you are in pain....... slow down.

This is ninety percent in your head, so maybe Bazza's advice is worth following. You can do this.

Oh AimtoRun that pesky mind is the DEVIL isn't it!!! My knees would start to hurt - but they didn't! I was out of breath - but I wasn't! I even said out loud 'Bog off' :D ! There was no reason why I couldn't continue - think it was in W9. Have the conversation with yourself about why you have this sticking point. I also tried envisioning before I started W5 because I didn't have the belief in myself that I could do it. Imagining myself getting through that first run helped to dispel those mind gremlins...xx

Choose a lovely flat route, maybe the park, canal footpath etc. It may mean you have to drive there for a change but please try to do it! Sometimes a new route as a 'treat' really does the job.

Bazza is right, dont stress about it, if you can run 28 mins the rest will follow as long as you keep getting out there👍🏼

Yes, YOU CAN DO IT!! This is classic head telling your body what to do. You are more than capable of finishing this and you just need to tell your head to f*** off and let your body do its thing.

Then, relish that epic feeling you're going to have when you finish and come on here and tell us all about it 🤗

You could try doing the week 7 run and then keep going through the warm down. I know it sounds odd but it worked for me building back up once.
