Women training for 5k...how do you deal with this issue?

Menstrual cycles!! I find it much more difficult to run a week before my cycle - when I am bloated and my whole body is more stiff and uncomfortable. I also tend to feel much lazier and tired. Do you have any tips for getting through this? Diet? More water? Running slower? Would love to hear!

I find this too ... my strategy was just to be more relaxed about the runs and not beat myself up if I didn't do a straight through run 😀

I actually found that running helps with pms. I always feel better afterwards! Might be more of a struggle to get out in the first place but it is worth it ;) If you don't perform as well as you would on other days so be it. You're still out and doing it!
