Finally, after serial stalking here since September,I have plucked up the courage to post.I just wanted to put it out there to all starting out on the programme that it Really,Really works!Honest it does....Hubby and I (60 & 58) began in early September and with some mishaps along the way, are now running/ shuffling 6k.Now I have NEVER EVER done anything like this before and still can't quite believe that it is me who does this.It leaves you with such a great feeling of well being ( along with a few aches), I cannot recommend it highly enough.

So, all you newbies out there,if I can do this, so can you.Please keep going especially through week 6 , which we found the hardest and just enjoy the whole process, albeit in a somewhat masochistic way!Still find the first 10 minutes so hard,is that normal? Anyway, as my husband says to me; 'Run, Forest,Run'.........

I'm sure the 'red faced shufflers' are actually now a recognised race (I'm definitely one). So glad you've posted and how great that you and hubby were able to complete it together. I think the first ten minutes is hard for everyone but isn't it great when you get past it and can shuffle for kilometre after kilometre?!

I have just completed w6r3 again (completed program 5 years ago but broken leg illness and surgery kept me out) I am almost 65 now and find that my legs ache and breathing a little faster by about 2 minutes but it doesn't get any worse so its ok to carry on. Actually did the 30 minutes today. I know I am very slow covered about 2 miles in the 30 but I am going to work on it when I can run consistently.

For me, the first twelve minutes or so are VERY hard on the lungs, legs and general well being...But then.... I soar....:)
