Due to do week 6 run 3 tomorrow

Think this pretty much sums it up 😩😩😩

After a2 week break due to illness I've managed to get back out and commence with week 6 but I'm not gonna lie, I've really struggled. Why have I started to feel this way before the break I was doing great and couldn't wait for my run days now I dread them as I'm struggling. I previously managed with the 20 minute run but this week struggled with the 10 minute run. I tell myself it was just one of those bad runs, couldn't get my breathing right throughout which I've never had a problem with, needed my inhaler after the run which ive not Needed before.

Feeling nervous about the 22 minute run 😁😁

You can do this! Just relax and breathe slowly and deeply and nice slow running, just plod through it. Every run builds up fitness that little bit more

Maybe just still a tad under par? That first run out after the IC can be a bit daunting.

I always get butterflies in my tum, and have to think about breathing properly:) So, just take it really slow and steady...( as ever :)) , and go slower that you think you need to :)

As JoolieB1 says, enjoy and just put one foot gently in front of the other.. focus on the now, and not the, what is to come :) You will do this :)

Thank you, yes maybe need to slow it down as my husband did mention that I was running faster. Ok so maybe that's it. Today I will slow it down.

Thank you xx

Just missing two weeks will put you back a bit and if you've been ill as well... Don't push yourself too hard and definitely slow down a bit.

I've been wondering if I should go back a few weeks or just keep plodding haha.

I'm not a graduate but had to take a whole month off recently with a very bad cold.

I had arrived at W6R1 when it struck.

After lots of advice here I went back a bit, but my first run just felt awful. I don't think I had fully recovered.

Make sure you feel well enough, maybe do the same run until you feel up to moving on?

I am now in week 7 and am properly back on track thanks to all the support here 😊

Yes I was surprised about how difficult I found W6R1

Ah, W6R1 - I've just warned someone else about this! I'm sure your break through illness may not have helped, but W6R1is infamous!! It is a real kicker of a run and trips up a lot of people. Just when you think you have this running lark sussed, having run 20 minutes straight, Laura throws this one into the mix. It may just be you were a teensy bit complacent and maybe set of just a tiny bit too fast (after all, it's only 10 minutes and you had already run for 20!). It has tripped many of us up in the past and will, I am sure, continue to do so in the future, so don't be surprised if you found it hard - it is! If you want to, you can do the run again, but if you completed it (even if you found it uncomfortable and hard), you are physically ready to continue. So, breathe slowly, give yourself a break and give yourself a HUGE pat on the back! You not only got back out after a break for a cold (and trust me, the gremlins will have had a field day with all the doubts this can bring in) but you completed the run. GO YOU!!!! :)

Feel proud. Look back and see how far you have come and move on with a smile. You can do this.

Such lovely words, thank you.

I think you are right, I think I was a little big headed and went to fast. I did run 3 today and just slowed it down and I was fine. Getting my motivation back now, was so worried that I wouldn't but think I'm back on the right path. Felt great after I completed run 3 today and feeling very proud but not sure I could have done it without the support and encouragement that I get from this forum.

Thanks for replying it's so encouraging. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
