Why so hard today?

W7R2 this evening was really really hard. In fact I very nearly gave up about 10 minutes into the run. It was strong wind so that will have had something to do with it but I can't blame Doris entirely. So why? Why are some runs so much harder than others?

I didn't give up though. ☺

It is very strange indeed but I guess the body is not a machine and sometimes it surprises us! Some of my best runs have been at night after a difficult day at work and will a belly full of food! Makes no sense, but it's true

Was just disappointed as was slower than Monday. I'm my own biggest critic! X

The easy runs condition our legs and soul. The tough ones condition the brain and make us mentally stronger. Well done on not giving up!

Well done for not giving up! Wind is the absolute worst, I hate running in it. Sometimes there is simply no rhyme or reason to why a run is good or bad. Sometimes you can work it out but others you can't. It will continue right up to graduation and beyond though, that's for sure. Luckily a good run often follows. :)

We are just human and everything and anything can affect us... But the great thing about us is.. we do it anyway!

Go you!

It happens! Maybe due to lack of sleep, not eaten, and anxiety stress, had a hard day at work? all can play a part...😊

Ah possibly all of the above. Funeral of a friend taken age 39 suddenly, yesterday; lost one of my favourite patients rhos week amd haven't slept enough / properly all week. I hadn't thought that mental difficulties would affect physical activity but makes total sense. Thankyou.

Gosh Annie... that is a lot to run with... oh dear.. But, maybe next time out, turn the sadness to happy memories,, and take those friends with you, in your head and heart ?

That's a tough one Annie! Sorry to hear that, so young! The mind plays a big part in what we do..
