Missing running!! - who'd have thought it?

I can't believe how much I want to run, I'm really missing it now the nights are getting lighter.

The shoulder operation went well, they shaved some bone off the shoulder blade and cut a piece of bone off the collar bone. Recovery is going well, physio is really pleased with my mobility I just need to get the muscles working then build them back up = more exercises.

The problem I have is I can't wear a bra because the strap goes right over where the collar bone has been chopped and it's still quite tender. Physio tells me not to rush things, it's only three weeks since op and I need to let it heal properly. I'm not a good patient and am getting quite bored, there's only so much daytime tv you can watch!!

Hopefully I can get a bra on next week then I can go for a steady run probably start with week one and see how I feel. Oooo can't wait!!

Can you wear a strapless bra and go for a walk? Just to get you out and moving? Hope you heal soon.

Good news that the recovery is going well. Nothing worse than being sat still and you see runners everywhere when you can't run! Don't hurry it though, you'll be back out there are building up again, there's no need to rush. Focus on getting better first and the running will be there when you're ready. :)

That sounds quite drastic. What was the operation for? If you can, go walking, especially uphill. You will notice how it helps when you get back to running. Hope you heal well. I'd do a lot of walking and get some box sets in.

Ironically I had lots of shoulder pain, the bursar was very inflamed and there was a bony growth on the underside of the shoulder blade.

I'm bored and the new exercises are stretching the muscles so they're getting sore, then we get a great day for a run and I can't go :-(

It must be really frustrating for you but best follow the advice of your physiology and wait. There'll be better running days when spring comes and you'll be able to run then for sure.
