At the moment looking for running shoes for under-probation.

I walk regularly every weekend long distance.7years ago I had an operation to remove bony growth on left arch of foot.Have reservations about running again.

If you know you have foot issues and are an under-pronator it is probably worth going to your local running shop for gait analysis.

Your long walks will mean you have a base of aerobic fitness which bodes well but yes, you need to be careful with those legs and feet.

Make sure you get good shoes and a gait analysis - it's really worth doing. And follow the plan faithfully. I did week 1 twice plus two days because I didn't feel ready but since then have enjoyed movin in to the next challenge. But listen to your body. Good luck x

Make sure you've got proper shoes (get a gait analysis and advice from professionals at a running shop) and follow the programme to build you up slowly. Start slow and don't push yourself too much. Perhaps consult a sports physio if it would put your mind at rest but give it a go - you may find you have no problems at all. :)
