Week 5 Run 1

Well, I really wasn't in the mood today because I'd had a family party the night before. I ate loads of cake and since I'm trying to lose weight, I felt kinda bad afterwards. Forced myself to go to the gym and run on the treadmill, and managed all the runs. I did a shorter distance than I was doing in week 4, but I was feeling grim... Glad I went now, as I would've been disappointed to let myself down otherwise. I'm a bit scared of run 3 this week, the 20 minutes. I have a feeling I'll be 'jogging' at walking pace. I'm going to space the runs so I have a rest day tomorrow, then run 2 on Tuesday, then two rest days and run 3 on Friday. I do a little bit of upper body weight training on my non running days.

I really can't see me managing 20 minutes, but we'll see!

That 20 minutes can look intimidating. Once you start it, you will settle on a rhythm and before you know it, you will be halfway through!

Don't worry! :)

Thanks, I hope it'll work out that way!

Hi Carillo - it's all in the mind - I think... Your legs and lungs and body will be ready by the time you get to it - it does seem to be a bit of a leap of faith - my very first post on this forum was to query whether the 20mins was a mis-print. Just relax and take it easy and smile to yourself and you'll do it. :)
