Please feel free to share your runs here and chat about how it's all going, sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.

If your a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.

Wishing you all a happy healthy week.

In an attempt to try and help my knee let me keep running, I've finally started doing the NHS-recommended knee exercises for runners. It's quite handy - four sets of them can be done seated at my desk, so noone knows that I'm doing them! :D Single leg squats get done while I'm cleaning my teeth. I just need to find a good time to do the other couple of things, then I'm sorted. (Trying not to imagine doing walking lunges while dashing to/from the bus stop...!)

I'm hoping that if I can get into the habit of doing them at random times through the day, the repetition will help build up the strength around my knees and keep it all working properly... At the very least it can't hurt. :)

I've been sick with the cold, cough and a fever and haven't been able to run in 2 weeks. Almost recovered now except for a nagging little cough that just won't go away, but there's no way I can run with it (went for a walk yesterday and that itself made it worse). Annoyed and frustrated.

Sorry for the rant, I just needed to vent to people who understand not being able to run when you want to.

These dry tickle coughs are terrible. I think being outside seems to set em off. I used to like pholcodeine lozenges but I find now that you can't get them from the chemist, you have to see your GP πŸ™„

Went to see the doc, he gave me some nasal spray for my allergies. Hopefully it works!

After my 8 months off last year I'm now back on Wk8 and looking forward to 'regraduating' at the end of next week. I intend to do it at parkrun as I did the 1st time around.

My new watch Fr235 has heart rate zones which are a bit confusing. I've only run twice with it but the first time it said I was in zone 5 for 50% of my run and zone 4 for another 32%. I've redone the zones taking into account my resting heart rate and today's run outcome seemed much more sensible and in keeping with what it felt like - zone 3 38%, zone 4 32% and zone 5 15%. Hope I've done it right.

I have that same watch, and also dont really understand the heart rate zones. I very rarely manage to reach zone 5 (which for me was set at >175), so that I actually get worried and slow down when I do reach that zone, as it beeps and sends a notice, which I haven't worked out if it is a warning, or a congratulations-type message....

I am struggling to keep up the motivation since graduation - its just so easy to make excuses. We have had thunderstorms and very humid weather for the last week or so and it is set to continue for a few days yet, and I really hate running in high humidity, so I have only been out once and gave up after around 10 minutes. Did a couple of 30second sprints though to see what my top speed was, and if I can ever run that fast for any length of time I will be able to just do a sub-30min 5k, so it is within the realm of possibility :P

On top of that (unrelated to running) it seems the storms have wreaked havoc on my house and my ceiling in my kitchen has collapsed, so now I have to organise that to be cleaned up and repaired) and deal with insurance people (ugh). So Im not feeling particularly positive at the moment. But I have plans to go running tonight and hopefully that will make me feel better :)

Really wishing I hadn't gone for my run yesterday. Ever since I came home after being out this morning, I've wished I could go running. Foul children. Just utterly, beyond belief or reason, rude. 😞

I would say at least this means I can look forward to a run tomorrow night / but since it's half-term and Mr Rainbow will have been on Teen Duty all day, I think I'll need to let him have a break instead. 😞😞😞
