Had to stop myself!

Hi everyone, after my long unplanned break due mainly to dodgy knees I am relieved to say I am back on track - forgive the pun! I decided to re-do the C25K plan and to really build up strength I have been spending at least 2 weeks on each week. I often run a bit longer than Laura says and have to hold myself back. I am now half way through and chomping at the bit. My knees seem ok so far, but I don't want to tempt fate. On my no run days I am going for long walks or up and down my 3 flights of stairs a few times if its too cold or icy. Yoga has helped a lot too as well as the nhs knee exercises. On this mornings walk I really had to rein myself in, next time I walk I might have to wear wellies, ha ha! The good gremlins (is there such a thing?), sit on my shoulder repeating all your great advice, slow and steady, slow is best and I feel reassured I am doing the right thing. Thanks all.

I don't think there are "good gremlins" (certainly not round these parts) but I do believe in Running Fairies, 😀

Sounds like you are doing well, building up your strength gradually.

Hope you have a lot more happy running.

Thanks, hopefully another few weeks and I'll be a lot stronger. I love the sound of running fairies too!

Well it sounds as though there are some actual gremlins always encouraging you to go beyond the plan... they may *seem* nicer than the ones say "Nah, don't bother, you're not up to this etc" but they can still scupper things for you just as well!

I will just have to turn up the music then I won't hear them, and sing a long with the "running fairies instead"!

Good gremlins, love the idea of that! Well done for taking it slow and steady. You'll be back to it before you know it. :)

Thanks, I'm feeling stronger already, so a few more weeks should do the trick. :)

Well done for showing good discipline😊. The plan is fun even second t8me around I expect and better to arrive at the end in one piece.

Good luck and a sprinkle of fairy dust.🍀

Thanks, I'm not normally good with self discipline, but I'm sure the fairy dust will help:)
