Today was my scheduled running day but so far it hasn't happened because of our inclement weather!
I don't mind running in a bit of rain - indeed I did the other night, but then felt a bit irresponsible after getting home because it got a lot worse during my run and I could have exposed myself to getting a cold, or worse.
But today it has not stopped - it doesn't seem to be wind-driven rain or a bouncing-off-the-pavement torrent, but nonetheless, it is relentless!
I'm just wondering if there is anyone dedicated enough to run in these conditions, and if so, what precautions you would take?

Snow.... wow. I've heard there are some folks who run in snow and it sounds extreme but I suppose it depends on the type.
There's a big difference between snow falling but not settling on a London street because of the numbers tramping the pavements and the kind of weather I've seen in Scandinavia, where it's piled 8ft high by the roadside. Folks are still out on their cycles there, though!
Wear a running cap, lightweight run jacket, run lights, you need to be very visible. I would do it in daylight if possible. If you really don't want to then don't. There is no peer pressure about it. You need to do what you feel happy with 🙂
I agree with others - drizzle, light rain is rather refreshing but it is often horizontal rain with strong winds here in the Highlands so that isn't much fun!
A little burst of heavy rain ☔️ can be exhilarating if it comes midway through your run or later, but starting out in a torrential downpour, hmmm, I don't think that I would! I wear a peaked cap if it's raining a bit, to stop the water hitting my glasses. Mind you, when I get back home, they've usually steamed up! 😀🏃🏼♀️🏃🏻🏃🏼♀️🏃🏻😀
I'll go out running, but I'll have prepared certain things for my return: e.g. making sure the shower is free when I get back, warm jumper ready for when I get in, hot drink ready etc. Often it isn't the cold and rain that's the problem, its what happens when you get home. So I don't mind going out in terrible weather if I know I have stuff ready for my return.
I would! Although I do admit it's is harder to step out of the front door when it's persisting down rather than it starting when you are already out. I won't run if its particularly windy or slippery under foot.
I quite like rain even if it's chilly but I hate wind and wouldn't go out in a storm, etc. I suppose it's best to be sensible and is totally up to you. Never harm in an extra rest day for whatever reason, as long as it doesn't turn into a whole winter of rest days.
During the summer months, provided it's not accompanied by lightning, running in heavy rain certainly wouldn't deter me at all. However, during winter months, depending upon outside temperature, it's probably not the best idea.
Running after dark when it's cold and clear, for example, is wholly different to running outdoors when it's dark, freezing and raining heavily, since those droplets of water hurt as they come into contact with the skin.
