As I had completed the program on Monday I decided it was time to run somewhere different !! So off to the beach !!
Well it was pretty awful - wet & windy, what's even worse than running ? Running with the wind & rain in your face !! For some strange reason running on a flat surface (sea front not actual beach - pebbles) almost killed me, I usually run up & down hills ??
It's a glorious sunny day in East Sussex today but as its a rest day I won't be running, but I think tomorrow I going to run around the cemetery again !!

One thing I won't do is anything where I get rain splattering in my face. Nothing more miserably cold and wet. I grew up on the ocean so know it only too well. Kudos to you for finishing your run!
Well done for running, but what a shame it was not quite so perfect weather for you. Whenever I have encountered rain, it has been when I was warmed up enough to feel that it was a benefit, gratefully cooling me down. It's interesting that the flat surface was harder for you, isn't it? Still, hats off to you for a great run. Like me, you wanted to change where you ran post graduation. I wonder why that is? I used to run on the flat, so went to hills for a bit, then back to the flat.
I usually run on the sea front too, and the lovely views are a great distraction. I do know what you mean though about the sea wind, it really messes with your breathing and when it's coupled with horizontal driving rain it's a nightmare! Well done for even finishing that run!
I know what you mean, I live in UK and France half and half, France is all hills, Cambridge is flat as a pancake. France is hard going, but I make up some time on the downhills, Cambridge is just relentless. Sometimes I think I find France easier, I think you use different muscles all the time, I'm certainly no faster on the flat. Wind and rain wont help either, I get both of those in Cambridge too, not so much in France.
