OOOO Back pain....Done too much!

I graduated about a couple of weeks ago but I think I've got a little enthusiastic and now I'm suffering. I downloaded Stepping Stones and although it was a tad quicker than I thought it would be, I completed the first time fine and really enjoyed it...then I got a little overconfident me thinks and after I'd finished the second run I got serious back pain but I didn't stop there ..Oh no.. I went out couple of days later for the third run....resulting in me barely being able to get out of a chair and in agony when I walk!

Why do we not listen to our bodies???

I did see on the Forum that back pain isn't unusual so I've downloaded some exercises - which I've put the links to in case anyone else is as daft as me - and they have really helped, I'm resting now for a few days until my back feels less sore then I will go back to Wk9 and go at a slow, slow rate until I feel ready to branch out again...My own fault I know, I was just a bit too keen for once in my life but I have learnt the hard way that's for sure.

I did Stepping Stone this morning, and got a rather achey shoulder from trying to get my arms to go back and forward without them crossing in front of my body at all. It felt extremely uncomfortable, so I'm not sure I got it right. But I needed to have something to focus on. Might use Week9 again on Saturday just for consolidation.

I hope your back improves soon. 👍🏽

Thanks, I've been doing the exercises and haven't run for a few days and it is improving. I think I will do Wk9 for a week then give Stepping Stones another go but I will slow down, I think the pace was too quick too soon for me. I know what you mean about your arms though, constantly checking the position of my arms, back, feet and anything else haha

Doh! you live and learn don't you ☺ Rest up a bit and you'll be fine. Go carefully from here on in

As you get progressively fitter you can do more but rein yourself in a bit for now ☺

Yes thanks, been resting and feeling much less sore. I was tempted to run tonight but thought I would give it a bit longer as still twinges. The exercises really helped though
